Senior Farmers' Market
Applications for Summer 2011 are no longer being accepted, and voucher distribution has ceased. Seniors can still redeem any vouchers in their possession at participating markets through September 29, 2011.
New to Wichita Falls in summer 2009, the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides seniors with fresh fruits and vegetables while promoting awareness of and participation in local farmers' markets. Applications are accepted between May 1 and September 30.
To be eligible, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
- be 60 years of age or older
- live at or below 185% of the poverty level
- reside in one of the 12 counties of the Food Bank's service area: Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Haskell, Jack, Knox, Montague, Wichita, Wilbarger or Young counties
Interested individuals should bring proof of eligibility to one of the following organizations designated by the Food Bank:

Eligible participants will receive a one-time provision of five $4 vouchers ($20 value) to be used throughout the season at farmers' markets certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture. A list of markets in the region follows:

The program is administered by the TDA and is funded by both the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the TDA. The Food Bank is responsible for local administration of the program.
