Summer Food Service Program

School may be out of session in June, but hunger takes no holiday. Many children suffer a nutrition gap when the school breakfast and lunch programs don's operate. That's where the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) can help.

For three weeks in June, the SFSP offers hungry children free breakfast and lunch through Camp Fire USA, the local SFSP feeding site. The program is run nationally by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service and sponsored locally by the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.

The Food Bank provides the breakfast foods and beverages and contracts with Senior Citizens Services of North Texas to prepare the hot, nutritous lunches.

Children ages 1-18 years are eligible to participate.
