Child Hunger Programs
Children suffering from hunger often experience poorer health than their peers, increased school absences, shame and social alienation. They also are at greater risk for learning difficulties, developmental delays and becoming ensnared in a lifetime of poverty. Summer is especially difficult for poor children and their families, because they have limited or no access to school breakfast and lunch programs.
To ensure the well being of our region’s most vulnerable residents, the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank operates three child hunger programs: Kids Cafe and PowerPak 4 Kids BackPack Program.
